Species Information [ Floe ]

The name originates from the word floe; meaning a segment that has separated from such an ice mass.

What is a Floe?

- - These little critters are snow bunny sprites and live in a land that never stops snowing called December. They have the ability to create snow and are as mystical as they sound.

What do they look like?

- - They have long, fluffy rabbit-like ears with the insides made out of crystal and the tip of their ears covered in ice. They also have pure white pupils. Check out this durp Floe guide.

What's so special about them?

- - They ultimately produce snow at their own will; the crystals being their source of magic. Although some enjoy being troublemakers than consider their gift a responsibility. The ones that are more responsible tend to incorporate their snow-making abilities to their advantage, bringing comfort and convenience for other Floes. Their body temperature is naturally cold, finding their climate to be bearable. They are also able to leap as high as three times their own height and can bitchslap your teeth out with their ears.

Height?

- - They're tinier in comparison to the average human; a full grown Floe ranging from 3' to 5' at most. The average height for them would be in between those numbers; leaning more towards the smaller side.

Lifespan?

- - As long as no one gives them a heart attack, they could live up to 100 years. Some of them have heard enough stories and long to be travelers, some of them have had more experience with their powers and are more mature with the concept, whereas some just don't even care at all. And when it's time for them to go, they disappear into fine snow crystal fragments.

What's this about the Ivory?

- - The Ivory has been the primary support of the kingdom and the reason the barrier stays in place, but regardless of the Floes living in harmony, the Ivory's power source seems to be decreasing as the years go by (???). So, you know. They stay inside like good little bunnies and inbreed or something like that (no you don't have to inbreed okay I'm just joking but that hot neighbour you have might be your cousin).

Can Floes leave the globe?

- - Yes, they can. The rumor is not true and there are no side effects of leaving the globe, but there are threats that await them because the world is a cruel place. It is however not permitted to leave, so if it happens, the Floe's action will be frowned upon. Might wanna do it in a hush-hush manner.

Do they leave just like that?

- - No, they will be needing a piece of the Ivory crystal on them in order to step out of the globe's protective barrier. You don't need a huge chunk on you just a small one will do have some shame and yes, there are pieces of Ivory around the tower.

What do they eat?

- - They're particularly fond of sugar and bakery treats. Because of that, there is a large amount of bakers in December. Shaved ice and snow cones also being the norm.
