NYANDERE

The name is a combination of the wordplay nyan and yandere; both representing cats as well as twisted affection.

B A S I C I N F O R M A T I O N

What is a Nyandere?

- - Nyanderes are cursed cat-beings, who go through life eliminating 9 stages of death before their curse is lifted.

What are their noticeable traits?

- - Frankly, they blend in ~~like a serial killer would~~ with the crowd of cats, but they do display a striking change in personality when they awaken in "killer" mode. The transformation is most significant in their eyes.

What are their abilities like?

- - They are agile, sharp and dangerous when in killer mode-- always wielding one preferable weapon or sticking to one method of killing of their choice. In a way, they like to be known for their signature kills. During normal hours, they are pretty much tame and casual.

Height?

- - They range anywhere from young teens to adult form similar to humans.

Lifespan?

- - They have 9 "lives". When killed, they'll miraculously heal past midnight to appear where they left off before the clock striked 9pm. This also means that it only happens 9 times at most. Basically, after 9 lives, they kick the bucket.

Attire?

- - Their attire varies depending on their occupation, but mostly casual.

Describe October?

- - Nothing seems out of the ordinary here! It's a typical town, buzzing with activity and a large number of population with plenty of jobs to take up here and there. A huge clock tower stands still in the middle of the town square as well. Convenient, no? Because here in October, time matters greatly and time controls everything...

Even your sanity.

What's this about the time?

- - There is a saying that children shouldn't be allowed to roam the moment it gets dark and there is a reason behind it that some don't dare to share. That's because when the clock strikes 9pm, a chill sweeps over the town and that's when you see bloodthirsty cursed individuals roaming the streets. However, their menace stops at exactly midnight.

What's the history behind it?

- - Once upon a time, there was a love dovey couple. We all know where this is going, right?

- - Shh I'm sorry I have a thesis to write atm.

Just something happened, the town got cursed and that's okay 'coz it's totally (not) normal.

Are all of the cats affected by the curse?

- - Not all of them! Heartbreak is the trigger; once they've experience it, they fall victim to the curse. Therefore children are normally not affected and some exceptional adults are pretty much normal, so most range between teenagers and adults.

Do they realize that they're cursed?

- - Not in the beginning. They'll gradually come to realize that they're starting to lack self-control even during normal hours and start to remember what they're doing exactly during killer mode. The curse is basically eating them alive.

Does it still affect them if they leave the town?

- - Ya man it's like a parasite the moment you get affected by it, it'll be your friend foreburrr.

Is there a way to cure it?

- - Who knows time to pack your bags and search for that wishing star. WIP!!
